Me and Wyn

Here we are, me and Wyn. (Tim was not in the mood to take pictures this afternoon, so you get mostly a picture of me sandwiched between the 2 cars, with Kelsey's scooter in the background.) We had a good 13 mile ride today, no falls. Some observations so far:

1. Be nice drivers (ie don't speed around me at 50mph. Please slow down. And no hip checks - mine to your bumper - I have only a helmet to protect me, you have tons of steel protecting you.)

2. You never really know how steep hills are until you ride a bike on them. In a car, they look nice and rolling, but on a bike, even the rolling ones are hard! I can't imagine doing a really STEEP one!

I was rocking karaoke last night. Apparently, I have a decent voice. Now I have a feeling I am going to be recruited for church choir next. :-)

the kids

Today, the kids:

Almost looks professional, right? Thanks to photoshop elements for the ability to remove my pink wall. :-)

Kelsey got her hair cut. This picture does not hardly show it justice, but it is so cute! Very short and fun, just like her. She loves it and it will be a perfect cut for summer. After all, who wants long hair in the summer in the south?

Grace under fire

So now that the weather has gotten a bit better, I've taken my "new" bike (thanks to my mother in law) out twice now. It rocks! Today, I headed over to Dick's Sporting Goods to buy some new bike gear and out I went. Tim took the kids to my friend Christine's house and I biked over there. A good 7 mile ride. Ok. So it went better than I expected. I was a little nervous riding on semi-major thoroughfares, but I did well. No crashing on the way there. I saved that for the way home :-)

I took some detours on the way home, stopped at our "new" neighborhood (the one we are currently looking at for a potential move in, oh, a year or so) and came home. Crash # 1 occured as I was stopped at an intersection. Duh. I felt dumb. Crash # 2 occured as I was riding up the hill in our "new" neighborhood and apparently the gears did not like the way I was shifting. So. I am currently icing my little (no jokes, please) tushie and looking forward to a better ride tomorrow. Not that today's was bad. I guess there is a learning curve to everything, right? and I haven't ridden a bike like this in, 10-15 years? So, I think I'm good. Indoor cycle has helped a LOT. Maybe some pictures tomorrow...

Tonight, we are watching basketball and playing with our new toy...Guitar Hero! Yes, I am hooked. We jam out and it's awesome.
